The last days have been difficult, I needed to shut down my brain and just laugh. Silly comedies are a great way to do that.
The ex Saturday Night Live member Mike Myers portrays the legendary British spy Austin Powers, master in the arts of seduction and the fight against terrorism. In this spoof of the old James Bond flicks of George Lazenby and Roger Moore, Austin Powers is cryogenically frozen in the 1960’s in order to save the world from the return of his arch-enemy Dr.Evil. When he wakes up, 30 years have past and Austin now realizes that the swinging 60s he left behind are l ong gone.
Even after all these years, Austin Powers is still amazingly funny. Myers’ style of comedy that we know and love from his SNL days or even the Wayne’s World films very much stood the test of time. Mike Myers portrays the title character of Austin Powers as well as the bad guy of the film, Dr.Evil. Just like James Bond, Powers also has his own “Bond girl” in Vanessa Kesington, played by the beautiful Elizabeth Hurley. It’s a great comedy, good entertainment that does what it’s supposed to do : Make you laugh.
I recommend it greatly!
